The 2022 Riesling Kallstadter Saumagen Kabinett trocken always comes from this site's first and last harvest pass, with the last grapes picked on 7 October 2022. Beautifully dried fruit comes with an exquisite ethereal lift that you would usually connect with much riper wine. It's absolutely beguiling and combines dried mint and orange peel. Later on, it even verges into dried chamomile. The palate is lithe and bright but shows the same intensity and ripeness of dried fruit, flowing and framed with freshness. It's so juicy. This wine teaches us a lot about the idea of ripeness and about the delineation of the German Prädikate - a game you can only play in Germany. (Bone-dry)
