The 2023 Batailley has really come together beautifully since I tasted it en primeur. Silky and potent, Batailley has so much to offer, specifically the way it balances power and finesse. Blackberry, gravel, crushed rocks, lavender, espresso and cloves are some of the many notes that build in the glass. Potent and ample, the 2023 has so much to offer. Batailley is a great example of what Bordeaux does best: turn out wines that remain fairly priced, in volume.

79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot.A step up from the St-Juliens in terms of lead-pencil character. Cabernet Sauvignon rules here! Just a tad drying on the palate but there is still a lot of dark fruit to enjoy. Precise, cool and long on the finish. (AWH)
