The 2023 Brouilly La Chaize comes from the monopole just behind the château. It undergoes 15 days of maceration, is 100% de-stemmed and aged for 16 months in 90-hectolitre oak foudres from Taransaud. This has a promising bouquet with quite sensual black cherry and iodine scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through the piquant red fruit, with veins of blood orange towards the finish. Maybe it just misses some length in the aftertaste, but otherwise, this is a finely crafted Brouilly.
